I listened to an interview with a favorite author, and it reminded me that I have cool books to finish writing. In a podcast episode of The Tim Ferris Show, Neil Gaiman (author of American Gods, The Sandman, Good Omens, and more) chronicled the changes in his process. Gaiman also talked about what he does to make writing more enjoyable.

Tim Ferris, the podcast host, is the author of the hit book The 4-Hour Workweek – mandatory reading for an entrepreneur by the way. Below, I linked to the podcast episode with Gaiman.

The books I’m writing are books I want to read. That’s the biggest appeal. I completely forgot about the books over the last 7 months which is why I appreciated the reminder to get back to scribbling. But seriously, 1 of the 4 books on my writing list is one I love the idea of and is one I can’t wait to read.

One writing method Gaiman mentioned was that he wrote one novel by writing 50 words before bed. I’ll try it and see what happens.

American Gods is one of my top 5 fiction novels. It’s a masterpiece imagining our very real human impiousness and our beloved deities in all their glory pettiness. Also, this could be the book that nudged me off the religious fence into Existentialism. It definitely helped.

Nothing like a good book! Am I right?!
