Monday morning, I published a 7-second YouTube Short video showing where I walk through my home carrying a gym bag and announcing it’s time to go lift weights. In one hour, the video had 1732 views. Two hours after publishing, it hit 2035 views.

2000 views on a YouTube Short is a first-time milestone. At the 10-hour mark, the video had 3004 views. That’s also a milestone for YouTube Shorts because I have no other Short video that’s hit 3000 views.

I decided the next YouTube milestone is 5,000 views for a single video – Short or long-form YouTube video. After that, the goal will be 10,000 views. As of the date-time, I’m typing the draft of this post, it’s 9:16 PM, and the extremely short Short has 4554 views (I love numbers so easily divisible by 9). This is cool, and I’m celebrating.

Also, it seems my Shorts are getting more plays than the longer ones. Maybe there’s something to that. Maybe 60 seconds is too long for the random things I post. I’ll keep experimenting – especially now that I know Premiere Pro can ripple delete video clips by removing pauses and text from the transcript. That’s a game changer and a way faster way to turn out videos.
