This weekend, I setup that iPhone 12 Mini that’s been sitting quietly in its box for 3 weeks. Actually, since today is Sunday, it’s 4 weeks. My previous iPhone was a 6S that seems content to be the bedroom iPod Touch.
I don’t like change. If you planned to asked why I hadn’t setup the superior phone sooner, that’s the answer. New things are cool, but old things are comfortable.
In all, the transfer of data and setup took me about 3 hours. Turns out the most important step in the process wasn’t in instructions — swap the new SIM card with your original SIM from the old phone. Ya know, that step that ALL my previous iPhone upgrades required? lol Joke was on me there.
For some reason, I just assumed these new, new iPhones are different and whatnot. Aside from the markup, they’re not different.
The iPhone 6S with it’s sweet 3.5 audio port has been retired to a slower, more peaceful life as bedroom music player. Carry on, my wayward son.
The phone fits in my keyboard! (let me explain)
I have a Logitech keyboard with a sweet groove that can hold smartphones vertically. It was a major selling point for this keyboard — Logitech K780 wireless, 3-device, and possibly hard to find right now keyboard [Amazon Affiliate Link — Thank you for using it!]
After a quick peek on Amazon, I see the keyboard out of stock at multiple places. Looks like the word is out! Consider this model below from Logitech too — the Logitech K580:
My iPhone 6S inside its case, couldn’t fit rest inside the groove. It was too thick. My iPhone 12 Mini inside its OtterBox case fits perfectly! This pleases me greatly. In fact, I like this little detail more than the camera and processing speed upgrade. Small, but mighty.
Body Party Video
The song — the video, specifically — in my head right now is Body Party by Ciara. This is the energy I want for my birthday and all of my birthdays now and forever. I can’t lie. Won’t lie. I’m dating again, and I’m not dead, so there’s hope.
Also, how great is the name of the song in the context of the video? Body Party? Man, that’s brilliant.
