I want to indirectly create a competitor to Turo

Rent My Car Tips with tagline: the newsletter for people who rent cars from people

I’m thinking about Rent My Car Tips Newsletter and the Rent My Car Tips YouTube channel. Underneath the surface, I want to promote a rival to Turo. I want one of the goals of my content to be a platform that operates in the United States, rivals Turo, and listens to what hosts want. That asks, “What’s best for hosts?” You know, the people who are providing the product?

I wanted to say it out loud today. I’d like for all the Rent My Car Tips content to result in someone creating a competing platform.

I have a lot of content that’s based on Turo because it’s the only platform for renting out my vehicles. I don’t want my content to appear completely loyal to Turo. My videos are not going to be sponsored by Turo or anything like that, but they will talk about it a lot. The idea is, of course, to educate Turo renters and, by proxy, would-be software developers, Turo hosts, and people who rent out vehicles privately.

It’s not going to be me who creates the rental car platform, by the way. I’m likely to create an open-source tool for people who want to rent their cars out privately. Maybe Airbnb will make one.
