Back in 2022 at Elijah’s graduation, I overheard you say “I ain’t get that big though” referencing me to someone comparing our unhealthy weight-gaining phases. I didn’t take it personally. For me, I was waaay too heavy – uncomfortable in nice clothes, heavy…don’t want to see myself in images and videos heavy – and the message you comically and brutally delivered was clear: “Son, I’m concerned about your health and mental state. This behavior is uncharacteristic, Favorite Child.”
Also, I learned, what I later turned into a motto, from you and this family: We roast the ones we love.
Still, I should’ve gotchu back cause it stung. What I should’ve said was, “Dad, you ain’t ever been as tall as me either 😄!”
