An Easter migraine and two ‘get healthy’ things about Monday I’m excited about

Maybe I should’ve drank more water on my Rest Day which happens to be Easter Sunday. I got a crazy migraine that has lasted for at least 12 hours. I got the remedy, and tomorrow is a very cool day to be rested up for. And be honest, you noticed the statue of David looks a little more seasoned than normal, didn’t you?

It could be from not drinking enough water, or it could be from overthinking, or most likely I’m at the beginning of my annual sinus infection. It usually comes in March, and one of my nostrils is working at about 50% as I type this.

Whatever the cause, I’m looking forward to getting in my bed alone and hitting the reset button. Sure, I could’ve taken sumatriptan, but because my head and body hurt, I’ve taken hydrocodone.

Two firsts: a new mental health therapist and a new workout routine

Tomorrow afternoon, I have my first appointment with a new therapist. Good news though: the VA Community Care reps have fully verified that this location accepts VA benefits (also known as Optum). I’m looking forward to the sit down and hope this is my person. I’ve been extremely discouraged about finding a new counselor since I had to stop working with my last therapist — who hadn’t been getting paid by Tricare or the VA. She was awesome and ideal. Unfortunately, we never got that payment issue resolved.

Tomorrow also marks the beginning of the workout routine I got from ChatGPT. I’ll share the prompt and a PDF document with the routine. Technically, I started doing the workouts last Thursday, and I only completed three days. But since I decided I’m going to do this routine for a minimum of six weeks, I’m choosing this week as Week 1.

The prompt:

I am an adult male who is 42 years old. My height is 5‘11“. I haven’t lifted weights in over one year. I weigh 236 pounds. My current body fat percentage is 33.5%, and I want to reduce my body fat to 23%. I want to lose .5% body fat each week and reach my goal of 23% body fat before September 2023. Can you give me a weekly workout routine that will combine cardio and full body weightlifting exercises to help me reduce my body fat from 33.5% to 23%?
