Yesterday, I explained to a friend that I’m giving up renting after the next 13 more months, then I’m buying. Dealing with property management who avoid operating with common sense is negatively impacting my mental health*.

“Pay Rent” Desk calendar reminder

I’m buying an already built home or I’m buying property to start a new home build.

Yup, I still intend to house hack my first home! I will buy a multifamily home and live in one of the units. I’m not budging on the decision to buy multifamily. 13 months is a goal, but I won’t rush into buying something I don’t want — like a single-family home.

No more landlords

There’s more than a handful of reasons I’m fed up with having to answer to landlords and management offices who consistently fail to operate from a place of common sense.

Also, renting is a major source of stress for me. Renting upsets my frugal nature. I’m very uncomfortable with giving so much money to one thing that gives me so little return.
