In dating apps, I swipe left/right based on how likely I am to have to pay for all the dates.

At a glance, some of the factors I consider the following: age, profession, activity/hobbies, and activities shown in photos. This new tactic seems to have reduced my overall matches in dating apps.

Another benefit seems to be that I have more matches who talk after matching. If you’re unfamiliar with the dating app culture, there is a trend for two people to match and one of those matches says nothing to start or respond to a conversation.
